Agares Media (Arcadem Pro)
Ok,
So it has been a few months since a whole big mess has went down at this companies website. One of their developers promising a update for almost 2 years or more. And then quiting there after telling everyone he was lying about doing updates etc.
And then the new owner slamming people, and be-littling the old developer (trying to lay the full blame on him) when from the looks like the new owner was full of empty promises also, and a very little bank account, to help pay the developer for his work. (i can understand, why work if you not getting paid for it).
Well now the new owner, is still trying to stir the pot, get people’s hopes up, and still has some of the usual guys that had their noses up his rectum from the beginning. The agares has become more the less a joke to a lot of us, you can not go there and voice your opinion, or ask anything regarding the software or you will be slammed, or told more story’s.
This in my opinion has become one of the worst companies to do any kind of bussiness with. They will need to completely start from scratch, get rid of all the ops, and admins, and remove them that shows hostility towards the consumers for asking any kind of question, or comment, and stop the empty promises. To even somewhat make a comeback.
I was made a admin there to try to keep me quiet and from complaining, after i had even told them i did not want to be, as i had already changed all my sites to a new script. Shows how desperate they have become.
This is what i would do if i was the new owner.
All ops / admins / etc.. Drop them to normal users, as they have been very negative since the beginning. Can’t have animosity between users. This should be done asap in my opinion. They are keeping the pot stirred.
Quit the promising of a new version. Just get the development going.
Listen to the customers, even if it maybe a little negativity, they have the right to speak it. As they have purchased your product. Remember customer satisfaction should be a priority.
All this is my view of this mess. MY OPINION.

Have to get my say in about this.
I was an Admin @ Agaresmedia. Arcadem Pro Arcade Script to the novice. Was a bumpy ride to say the least. One thing i know for sure is that what i say here wont be deleted.
They have a lot of problems at that site.The biggest i have to say is the Tech Admin. This is one guy who knows how to stir up trouble and then slam the door in your face.Bad for business . The constant lies are a slap in the face to the current,former and new members @ Agaresmedia.
they are so bust pointing the finger at other people,the staff is ignoring the real problem. Themselves . What was once an up and coming script has been tossed in the toilet. The current owner is still making a few sales,but cant even keep the server bill paid.The script is in the wind,but he will tell you otherwise.
And dont even think of going there and stating your onion, you may be banned for awhile.
One problem is the owner has given the tech Admin full reign of the site.This was a mistake that may not be able to be undone.
If you are looking for a new Arcade script, i would think twice about this one
All this is my view of this mess. MY OPINION.
Just to make it clear. I hid the true issues behind the scenes from the general public i.e., customers because I was told to. For the first year after I took over as site admin, the owner was supposed to of had a “friend” doing development of 3.0 and was going to put me in charge of the development. I never did get told who that was. That failed, so Alex asked me if I would do it. I agreed on the condition that he pays people to help me. One of those was JayC Santols. He never got the promised deposit on time, and by time Alex indicated he was prepared to pay the deposit, I was so frustrated and fed up with the delays, that I told Alex I didn’t want to use JayC anymore. That was nothing against JayC. I didn’t see using someone if he wasn’t going to get paid reliably. I did tell Alex something else, but truth is I felt I would be wasting JayC’s time using him with AP pro projects. He’s too good to be ripped off.
Next person was Pankaj. He was tasked to help with the licensing bit and parts of the script. He got paid late each and every time. I got nagged for payment and when I approached Alex on it, I was told to tell this guy “soon” or “by the end of the month”. Even that was never honored consistently.
I had two others work on the website and one I paid myself and suggested he not accept anywork from Agares (one I continue to use today on my own website). I had a another contractor agree to fix the bigfishgames bug caused when bigfish games upgraded their API. This guy quit because he never got the starting deposit. I refused to allow him to start until the project was first funded. It never did get funded as promised numerous times by the owner.
I admit and regret I that I told people several times that the upgrade was going to be released on this date, or that date. However, at the time I made the posts I believed those dates were attainable. However, invariably, either the server bill didn’t get paid so the website got disconnected and at the time, guess where the code was? I moved it from Agares Media to my own servers because I could not trust the owner to keep the website up.
Then I received a commitment at work to do some training that required me to be away for a while. I used that as an excuse and resigned from Agares Media. In hindsight, I should of told people I was resigning because of the frustrations and growing disputes between me and the owner. Shortly after that, Alex began selectively posting bits and pieces of our private discussions and blatantly lied after that. He claimed to of sent me “thousands” of dollars. He couldn’t pay the server bill regularly, so that should be quite obvious. I did keep books. In fact when I got audited this year, my return showed $540.00 from Agares Media. A far cry from “thousands”.
Well Arcadem has been down for a few days,Alex (the owner) said to expect this and for no one to worry about it. We will see what happens. I myself think that he has used up all his excuses on this site. He claims that it will be off line so they can “redo the them” ? taking a site off line for that reason is a new one to me.
All this is my view of this mess. MY OPINION.
Well suddenly it all makes sense.

I’ve started looking to change my site over to WPArcade or MyArcadePlugin, still trying to figure out the best one

Twisted, i looked at your sites briefly. I got a couple of questions about AVarcade.
1) Does the script allow IBPro games with scoring? Does it record hi-scores?
Are we allowed to modify the script legaly?
2) How hard is to add IBPro games? I don’t like MOCHI or other feeds.
3) Does it have mods, addons scripted by regular users.
4) Messages system?
5) Free templates?
6) Does it have support?
7) Forum where people can discuss scripts glitches and bugs?
LOL, since i did a lot of modifications to the Agares script, it’s kinda hard to change to something else. Your sites looks amazingly good, but i can’t tell how much you have modified the script since i have not seen a plain vanilla AVArcade.

DMM2020, I believe what you said is all true. But too little too late. You lied to us for close to 2 years. There was no beta testing of the new script at all.
The tid-bits of code you past on the testers never worked. I’ve been in contact
with some of the testers and all could verify this.

@BinaryB: None of us here are without sin in the matter. We can fight and get no where or we can knock of the crap and ignore each other or a remote chance we can be friends again. After what has happened the later will take a lot of effort. I never lied about the release dates, because at the time I stated them I felt I could meet those dates and that Alex was going to pay people on time. In hindsight, I should of never posted planned release dates at all and just announce a release date when the job was done. What I did was build up false hopes, and I know I am wrong in that and apologize that much. I did conceal what was going on behind the scenes, including my own faith in the future of Agares Media, which at the end was nil to none. You want to rewrite history to make it your version is what the problem is and you have no clue what went on. Now we both can go about and find each other’s faults but then it’s soaps repeat. As far as your “contacts” with beta testers, I kind of doubt it. Even if that is the truth, we barely even started beta testing so I don’t think it’s a fair statement to attack a private beta cycle especially since you were not there first hand or to even attempt to “quote” he said she said. Private beta cycles typically start with a myriad of faults that have to be ironed out, plus I ran into a huge number of server differences. What worked on my sever did not on others. Now if you were on the beta test team you would of known that. Telling someone to “go away” is a vain attempt at “claiming victory”. We all lose when that happens and anyone is forced to leave so they don’t have to deal with the crap.
I have no idea if it’s true, but Alex quoted you and several others as making statements that I intended to release my own version of AP Pro instead. I hope Alex was lying. Anything I say in confidence I expect to remain that way, otherwise trust is not there. Truth be known, I had intended to finish AP Pro as long as I was the lead developer and opted to do my own version only after I resigned both the first time and the last.
In business, you are allowed to release only what the “upper management” authorizes you to do so, and in this, you are obligated to release the management’s version. Your comparison to Nazi’s is same as comparing apples to oranges, a weak attempt at it too. However, in this case, I should of not of returned to Agares Media at all after I resigned the first time, because I was being pushed into making even more blatantly false statements than I did.
@the rest: I agree it’s time to go on. Time to stop the mudslinging whether it be behind someone’s back or otherwise. I don’t care whose website it is on. It’s time to stop it or if you can’t stop participating in it.
Doug, i do understand and i did say i believe most of it. The only thing i have problem with is your not telling us anything before the bomb went off.
Your setting up beta testing sessions with tiny codes just to shut up everyone and posting countless new scripts feature lists when you knew nothing is being done.
I was in contact with Ron, one of you beta testers. You know him? I was told
nothing was done while beta testing. Actualy, we shouldn’t call it beta, more like pre-alpha. Beta is when the script finished and fully functional. Just needs some fine tunning and a few bugs killed. Whatever…
As for Fivestar…rest assured i have never even PM’d him about anything. Certainly didn’t tell him your creating your own script. Where would i get

The only PM i ever got from Fivestar is when you deleted his account on Agares and he couldn’t log back on. Asking me to re-enstate his account. Little he knew, i had no access to do any Admin functions.
Regarding SGTB (sarge) You have no idea how it started. The first thing was when he replied to one of my message on ArcadeSalon with profanity. That caught me off guard since i did nothing to deserve that. Ever since he is following me around and trying to degrade me as he did to countless others.
Frankly, i don’t recognise SGTB, something must of happened in his life or he has no life.
I offered many times to stop this nonsence, but he always declined. I guess he has nothing better to do but to `war’ in the forums. SGTB is a sad sad person.

A couple false statements there:
I no longer had access when I quit, because if you didn’t notice, I demoted myself to regular user. I had no admin access at all. Alex also immediately changed passwords on the forum and on the server. I had no access. The contractors did that were doing work for us at the time, plus the ones Alex gave access to. That would of been in the logs. I made sure damn I no longer had access when I resigned, because I foresaw Alex making false accusations if something happened. Whoever did that would of been after I resigned, because Alex was still logging in and posting blatant lies as you know. Remember, a registered user has no access to the admin panel. I heard I got accused by both him and Ady of doing a lot of things, none of which is true. I had no access to do anything. I even deleted my FTP accounts before I resigned so Alex could not beg me to do any more work. Alex and Ady saying I did anything on the server or kicking Alex out is a lie. I had no access. The logs will show I deleted my own account before I resigned unless someone edits them.
I don’t give a damn what Ron said, because while he means well, it’s not an accurate picture, but I do understand his feelings about it, but the tests had barely got started before I resigned, and yes very little progress while in duration and there were a combination of server compatibility issues that took a long time to fix and towards the end, I knew I was going to quit because Alex was already more than $2000 behind in what he owned me and Pankaj. I even told both SgtB and Ady that I was considering quitting about that point, but that something I could not announce publicly until I first told Alex. Bet you that’s something Ady will not admit. At this point I will not argue about what did or did not happen during the beta tests there as nothing constructive will come out of it to discuss it further, except more finger-pointing. All we can do is agree to disagree. Work was aggressively going on WHEN I was getting money to pay people and there were other developers involved but when they didn’t get paid, they took their code with them like I did. I was even prepared to give the code to Alex up to the point when he began blatantly lying and began to post what he told me was confidential business discussions. Regardless of the accusations I heard, I was NOT on the server since a few days after he selectively posted bits and pieces of my emails without showing the whole context of them. I did get a lot of cut and pasted emails of forum posts, but except when I logged in under my username until Ady banned me, I have NOT been on the forum. A quick look at the raw server logs should of showed that, and both Alex and Ady should of check it before they ran their mouths off. I do know who it was though, because I got the responses cut and pasted back to me. I did get a good laugh for a spell, but it’s stale and time to go on. I have asked that those cut and paste emails stop as I have no interest in what happens behind my back anymore. It’s irrelevant to what I plan in the future.
Doug, i only know what i was told. The e-mail from Fivestar said that you deleted his account. He sent the same e-mail to all he thought had enough access to be able to reactivate his account. I really don’t care who deleted Alex, though i found that to be vey funny. Someone did. I think Ady was the one who re-activated his account.
As for beta testing…I understand…No script, no testing…You knew you were quiting. So why bother with the script.
All i’m saying, it would of been nice if you would of told us and not letting things to drag out until the end. We hang around the forum like idiots not knowing what was happening in the background. Had some very loyal and very naive Agares fans who logged in every day to see if there was some kind of progress. We were led to believe up to the last minute that all was well.
…and it wasnt.
Yes, in hindsight which is always better than 20/20 I should of revealed the true status or at least avoided raising false hopes at all costs. I could not and would not compromise what the owner determines to be confidential, but it was a mistake to repost things that raised false hopes. I have admitted that numerous times. If I had to do it again, the only way I would is with an NDA signed and understanding that posts I am asked to pass on will not misrepresent things or contain statements I know to be incorrect.
On the side, I am tickled silly to find out that I “deleted” Alex’s account when I had no access from the day I resigned. I would never, ever do that on some one else’s website ever. Worse I would do is what I posted on my old website which shows when you bring google Arcadem Pro. I will aggressively attack fraud and scams, which is exactly what Alex has done. He never paid the last $10K owed to Jeff, and used various methods of deception to try to protect his possession of Agares Media, so by all rights, Jeff should try and regain ownership since he was never paid.
I also don’t expend a lot of effort trolling and got a few laugh at cut and pastes several sent to me after I got banned by Ady with Ady and Alex accusing me of just that being behind some screen names and that. I do know who it is though, but it was not me. No, just because others stoop to new lows, I am not going to follow their lead. I am better than that.

You are indeed better than that. I’m glad you have taken the time to explain things. I really appreciate it. I always knew what you were saying about the owner was infact the truth. I still recall the ApplePad incident where he promised an I-Pad to a customer, but never paid up. Thats where it all started.
I hope Jeff goes after Agares, that would be one way to bring back Agares with some integrity and dignity. I still think the script is great, it was ahead of its time and still is.
As for deleting Alex’s account, he did tell us to keep it quiet. He was imberessed(sp?) i guess. Or he just wanted us to think you are a bad
person. Not sure what his motive was. Or even if his account was really deleted?

Agares seem to be gone. The owner not telling the truth. He said he was changing templates, but that was many weeks ago. I guess he lied again. Agares has folded as expected.
As for me, i would be very surprised if Doug ever released his own Arcade script. It costs alot of money to develop one with the claim it will be better than all the other ones out there.
I’m pretty sure he knows there is no money in Arcade scripts anymore. The days of the flash games and the Arcade scripts popularity are long gone.

Twisted, you mean your in this for the money? I havent made a penny on this. I’m very close getting my first $100 from google, but i’ve been up and running for 3 years. I run an Arcade as a hobby and as a learning experience. Not expect to get rich anytime soon.
Well i run it as a hobby also. But i am now working on my 6th google check. Just got my 5th in today (was waiting for it since it was mailed the 27th)
Each one has been between 100-160. It basically pays the server bill and then a little extra. I get one about every 3-4 months..
Mochi games on the other hand are slow.

I just do no see it as going anywhere to keep dredging on a script that is now defunct, even if Doug was part of the development team. It is easy to point fingers, and call names, and put blame on him, but also at same time it is not fair. He was just a pawn as we all were in the owners game. True at the owner. I don’t think his post was effective nor were his threats of lawsuits. No one believes him anymore except for maybe one individual. Unfortunately, I have to act as though they are serious and prepare for the possibility of them happening. I believe them to be idle threats as he can’t even pay his own hosting bill, let alone paying $10-30K plus in legal bills he will have to do plus mine when he loses. Unfortunately, just defending against frivolous lawsuits is very expensive nowdays.
I have a feeling they are just empty threats. Like you said, he can’t even put up a forum to make a few extra bucks on the script. How is he to pay for his legal fees? No sane lawyer would take this case. …if there is a case.

He did pay up on the Ipad only after I threatned to quit again, right before I finally did quit. It took over 6 months for him to pay up on it. I insisted on proof of the transaction before I would continue any work at all. MillerKil even confirmed it. Every time I was told it was taken care of, a month later MillerKil would PM me and tell me it wasn’t.

Ady did the exact same thing at TA and pushed the envelope until he got the website owner and his main moderator so pissed they had to ban him, but he kept it up with just enough lip service to stall the ban a bit.
